We are back!...
Last July we created an event - the Summer Disco Picnic - designed to fill the void left by the cancellation of our beloved Walthamstow Garden Party. It was a one day event and despite funding challenges and a tight window for delivery we managed to attract over 4000 people to Fellowship Island in Lloyd Park!
Since then we have been beavering away to bring you something even bigger and better! This year our second pilot will be two days - double the fun! Saturday brings DJ-led entertainment; Sunday our chill out day features live acoustic music, fitness classes and much more. We anticipate more than 8,000 attendees across the whole weekend.
Headline DJs... (Saturday)
On the Saturday we have DJ led entertainment with some amazing headliners. The legend that is Simon Lee from Faze Action will once again be bringing his Nu Disco latin and jazz infused grooves to Lloyd Park. This will actually be the third time Simon has stepped up to play behind the decks in our beloved park as he was a headline guest for us a couple of times at the dance tent for the Walthamstow Garden Party. If anyone remembers those gigs and the energy from the crowd you'll know not to miss this. Simon has over two decades as a producer busily shaping the sound of modern Disco, House, and Balearic music. Faze Action's debut album released on Nuphonic Records, based at the equally iconic Blue Note Club was a key force in reshaping Shoreditch’s 90s scene, hosting legends such as Goldie, Bjork, Talvin Singh, and Andy Weatherall.
Alongside his brother Robin, Simon has gone on to release five acclaimed albums, countless remixes, and timeless tracks like “In the Trees” and “Disco Motion,” both underground classics that fueled the global disco revival. He is currently working on their sixth studio album and has just delivered a new remix for Cantoma. Recent highlights also include "Fantasy", "Mangwana" (with Zeke Manyika), and Andromeda Orchestra’s "Mozambique"
Co headlining with Simon will be Lex (Athens) who is flying in specially from Greece to play this gig with us. Lex is locally connected with an album out on Leng Records which is based out of Leytonstone. Lex's productions and DJ sets blend disco, house, and techno, known for their deep, soulful, and organic style. he has played all the major clubs in Athens and performed internationally in cities such as Paris, Berlin, New York, London, Amsterdam, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, Copenhagen, Cairo, and Ibiza. Lex also has a working relationship with our co-headliner Simon Lee from Faze Action as Simon has remixed some of Lex’s output. This is the first time however that they have shared a DJ bill together as well as being Lex’s first experience playing at a festival in the UK. Simon and Lex will also be playing at the after parties we have lined up in the evening.

Acoustic Music... (Sunday)
A chill out day kicking off with a fitness class from Warriors Fitness Studio.
This will be followed by some lively local acoustic acts, a sprinkle of poetry from Forest Poets, and a discussion about River Lea biodiversity from Stonebridge Lock Coallition and a Walk, Talk, Draw session around the park

We will also have a stalls from local makers, including By Kala, Donna Todd, Mamiluk, Candy Crochet, We Gorgeous, Forge & Thread and plant phantic Green Tings.
We have many more bars and food traders this year so every taste should be catered for whether it's quality coffee or a well mixed cocktail, Vietnamese food or a pint of fresh thirst quenching lager you'll find a stall to meet your needs and all with an emphasis on local businesses. Keeping money wherever possible in the local economy is a core aim of ours.
We’ve got plenty of options available to keep you fed and watered on the day, including food from Muush Drinks, Walthamstow Dogs, Chickenish, Hanoi Cà Phê, TNT Food Truck, Istanbul Gozleme, FYND Pizza, Fluff Pancakes and Sweet Cupcakes.
