Location & Transport
The Summer Picnic is in Lloyd Park on Forest Road, E17 4PP. The event will take place on Fellowship Island.
The Entrance will be on the William Morris side of the island with easiest access from Winns Terrace
We encourage people to travel sustainably to the event on foot or using public transport. Cycling to the park is encouraged, but bikes will need to be parked and locked outside of the island.
What time is the event?
The main event runs from 12pm to 7pm on Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday.
Anyone taking part in Sunday’s Fitness class can access the site from 10:45am.
Is it free entry?
Yes! The event is free thanks to the support of our sponsors Stow Brothers, Pillars Brewery, Renegade Wines, Burnt Faith, Perky Blenders, Warriors' Fitness Studio and William Morris Ward Funding.
However, these events aren’t easy to put on for free so we will be offering the opportunity for attendees to give an optional entry donation, with any profits going back into future events, and the park where possible.
Or you can donate whenever you like to FOLP via this link.

What about pre-booked tickets? Can I still get in without one?
Following advice from the parks team, a number of pre-booked tickets were released. These guarantee entry until 2pm on Saturday and 1pm on Sunday (plus fast entry the rest of the days). The only equate to part of the event capacity so there will still be space for those wishing to turn up on the day. If we do reach capacity we will implement a 1 in/1 out system. There are still some Sunday and Weekend tickets available here.
Is it family friendly?
Definitely! All of the music is fun and suitable for all ages. There are also plenty of activities on offer for children (of any age!), including crafty instrument making with Lucy Rainbow, a collage workshop from Waltham Collective (4:00pm each day), plus a Nature Art Walk at 2:00pm on the Sunday. We also have facepainters on site on both days.
N.B. Come to the Welfare/First Aid tent if you would like a safety wristband for your child on which you can write your phone number.
What about waste?
Our plan is to leave the space exactly as we found it. Please help us by taking any rubbish from picnics home or putting it in the correct bins for General Waste or Recycling.
We are trialing a reusable cup policy for all the bars meaning that you will be charged a non-refundable £1 for the first cup and encouraged to re-use that.
We will be conducting regular litter picks on and around the island.
Will the park remain accessible?
Yes you will be able to move around and enjoy the rest of the park freely, however it may be busier than usual around the island, and on the Saturday with the usual Lloyd Park Market taking place.
Will there be food and drink?
We’ve got plenty of options available to keep you fed and watered on the day, including food from Muush Drinks, Walthamstow Dogs, Chickenish, Hanoi Cà Phê, TNT Food Truck, Istanbul Gozleme, FYND Pizza, Fluff Pancakes and Sweet Cupcakes.
Our wonderful sponsors Perky Blenders, Pillars Brewery, Burnt Faith and Renegade Wines will be providing the drinks.
What other activities will there be?
We will also have a stalls from local makers, including By Kala, Donna Todd, Mamiluk, Candy Crochet, We Gorgeous, Forge & Thread and plant phantic Green Tings.
On Sunday at 11am Warriors' Fitness Studio will be hosting a free fitness class in the park, which you can sign up for here.
If you're interested in nature come and hear about the River Lea Diversity from Stonebridge Lock Coalition at 1:30pm on Sunday.
At 2pm and 3:30pm on Sunday garden designer Lucy at Out Front Designs and local artist Ellie Horry are teaming up to lead two guided Walk, Talk, Draw sessions around the park where participants can learn about the plants and have a go at sketching them. You can sign up for that here.
Waltham Collective will also host a collage workshop each day at 4pm.
